Why are we called Nellie Supports?
Family is at the heart of every elephant’s life and just like people, elephants care, comfort, empathise, work together and even hug. We thought it was a great way to sum up our compassionate, collaborative approach and our mission to protect and support individuals, and the families and communities they’re a part of.

Ben Slater
Director

Nellie’s MD is Ben Slater. Ben is a highly qualified, professional and experienced Social Worker; Ben has worked as a Social Worker for various local authorities as well as managing a children’s centre. Ben is passionate about having a positive impact on people’s lives and local communities. Ben received a 1st Class honours degree from the University of Lincoln, and is a guest lecturer at the Institute for Higher education in Grimsby. Ben has three children and lives with his wife, Kerry.
Kerry Slater
Practice Manager

Kerry is our Practice Manager. Kerry holds a masters degree in forensic anthropology and has experience working within the legal sector and in creating policies and procedures, most notably for the Metropolitan Police.
Kerry ensures Nellie runs smoothly from your initial call to the completion of your assessment. Kerry lives with her husband Ben in Lincolnshire and has three children, Courtney; Samantha and Harrison.
Louise Thornton
Louise is a qualified and registered Social Worker with a master’s degree in international human rights. Louise has worked with adults and older people since 2002 in varied social care roles including as a university lecturer program lead. Louise is an emphatic but professional and will strive to achieve the very best for all stakeholders.
Louise has three grown-up children and lives with her partner near Hull, South Yorkshire.

Scarlett Rose

Scarlett is a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England. Scarlett has worked within the Social Care sector for over five years and has experience working in both with adults and children and has gained further experience working in a hospital setting. Scarlett holds a degree in Social Work from London Metropolitan University.
Scarlett lives in London with her young family.

Katy Slater
Katy is our Business Support Officer, our front of house.
Katy has a wealth of experience in customer service and her passion for customer excellence has led her to study for qualifications in business administration and qualifying in the Lichtenberg financial assessment process.
Katy lives with her partner John and her two children in Peterborough.
Clara Doval Rodriguez
Social Worker

Clara is a highly qualified and registered Social Worker with experience in different fields within Social Care. Clara has worked with adults in both mental health and drug abuse settings and has experience working with children with congenital brain difficulties. Clara holds a degree in Social Work from the University of Vigo, Spain and speaks fluent English, Spanish and Portuguese. Clara lives with her partner, Jacobo in Coventry.

Jade is a qualified social Worker who holds an MSc in Social Work From the university of Kenthas worked within the Social Care sector for over three years and has experience working with both adults and children. She has knowledgeable experience around adults with mental health. Jade holds a degree in Health and Social Care.

Mandy Davies

Mandy is a qualified Social Worker who holds a BSc in Social Work from Birmingham City University and is registered with Social Work England.
Mandy has over ten years of experience working in the health and social care system and has worked with adults who live with a diagnosis of dementia. Mandy also has substantial experience in advocating for young people who are in care.
Mandy has three children and lives in the West Midlands area.

Amelia is our apprentice business administrator and already holds Btec Qualifications in Health and Social Care and has gained excellent customer service experience in her previous roles working in hospitality.
Amelia lives in Lincolnshire with her family.
